A family business, rooted in Thailand
Thailand Boat Tickets is locally owned and locally invested. We give back to the islands and the people that make our work possible.
Who we are
Local roots, local responsibility.
We're a small family company based on Koh Tao, in the Gulf of Thailand. We grew out of these islands — out of long days at the pier, late-night chats with operators, and friendships with the people who keep ferries running every single day.
Because we live here, we feel a direct responsibility for the places and people we work with. That's why giving back isn't a marketing program for us — it's just how we run the business.
What we stand for
Three simple commitments that guide every decision we make.
A Thai family business
Thailand Boat Tickets is a small, family-run company headquartered on Koh Tao. We're not a faceless platform — we're locals, neighbours, and friends of the people who run the piers, the boats and the shops you'll meet on your trip.
Locally invested
Every baht of profit we earn is reinvested into Thailand: local salaries, local suppliers, local partners. We hire and train people from the islands, and we work hand-in-hand with the operators and pier teams that have welcomed us since day one.
Caring for our islands
The reefs, beaches and forests of the Gulf and the Andaman are why travelers come — and why we stay. We support local ecological initiatives focused on reef restoration, beach clean-ups and reducing plastic waste at the piers.
20% of our yearly profit, for the next 2 years, goes to local charity.
For 2026 and 2027, we are dedicating 20% of our annual profit to local charities, ecological initiatives and community projects in the Thai islands and provinces we operate in.
No middlemen, no fancy foundations — just direct support to the small local organisations and people doing the actual work on the ground. Every year we'll publish a short, honest update of where the money went and what it changed.
Where the money goes
The kinds of local causes we support — and will keep supporting through our pledge.
Reef & marine protection
Supporting Koh Tao-based dive schools and marine biologists working on coral nursery programs, reef monitoring and crown-of-thorns control.
Beach & pier clean-ups
Regular volunteer clean-ups across Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui — and funding for waste-management at the smaller piers we operate from.
Local schools & youth
Backing English programs, swimming lessons and small scholarships for kids growing up on the islands where we work.
Animal welfare
Donations to local shelters and street-dog/cat sterilisation programs run by volunteers across the Gulf islands.
Get in touch
Know a local cause we should support?
If you run — or know — a small charity, school, marine project or community initiative anywhere we operate (Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi, and beyond), we'd love to hear from you.
We focus on small, local groups where a modest contribution actually makes a visible difference.
